StudyLikePro was born out of a very real frustration with studying in Nigerian universities — and a belief that AI can finally fix it.
StudyLikePro started with one simple problem — studying in Nigerian universities is unnecessarily painful. Students were spending more time organising notes than actually learning from them, improvising with tools built for students in other countries, and manually creating flashcards from handouts that took hours to type up.
So Ibe (Mhato) Gladness Chizurum, a Software Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), started building a solution. Not a side project — a proper AI-powered study platform designed from the ground up for Nigerian students.
Every line of code, every design decision, every feature — built by one person who understands the campus grind, the data constraints, the CGPA anxiety, and what it actually takes to prepare for Nigerian university exams.
The same student who debugged his first Flutter project at 1am in a hostel is the one who shipped this platform. Campus problems deserve campus-built solutions.
No team. No funding. Just a laptop, conviction, and a real problem that needed fixing.
Like every Nigerian university student, I was spending hours rewriting notes, making study cards by hand, and searching YouTube for explanations my lecturers didn't give properly. I knew AI could solve this — so I started building.
The AI flashcard generator came first. Then quizzes, the AI tutor with image support, smart summaries, CGPA calculator, PDF tools, document converter — every feature came from listening to what real students actually needed. No guesswork.
The app launched to real students — on web and Android. Real uploads, real flashcards, real results. What started as a personal tool for one FUTO student is now a platform built for students across Nigerian universities.
The mission is clear: every Nigerian university student deserves world-class AI study tools. More features, more schools, more students — we're just getting started.
"I didn't build StudyLikePro because I wanted to start a company. I built it because I needed it — and figured if I needed it, thousands of other Nigerian students did too. That's still the only reason every new feature gets shipped."
