Your privacy matters to us

StudyLikePro is an AI-powered study and exam preparation platform built for Nigerian university students. The platform is developed and operated by Ibe Gladness, a Software Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria.

When this policy says "StudyLikePro", "we", "us", or "our", it refers to this platform and its developer.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information

• Your name and email address (when you sign up or sign in with Google)
• Profile photo (optional, if you upload one)

Content you upload

• Documents, PDFs, images, or text you submit for AI processing (flashcard or quiz generation)
• Messages you send to the AI tutor

Usage data

• Features you use and how often
• Study sessions, streaks, and progress data
• Device type and browser (for technical debugging)

We do NOT collect

• Payment or financial information (the app is free)
• Your location beyond your country
• Any data from your device beyond what you explicitly upload

We use your data only to provide and improve the service:

• To create and manage your account
• To generate flashcards, quizzes, and AI tutor responses from your uploaded content
• To save your study progress and streaks across sessions
• To improve the app based on how features are used
• To send important service updates (not marketing spam)

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Auth, and Firebase Storage) — industry-standard cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

Uploaded files are stored in Firebase Storage and associated with your account only. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with the following third-party services that are essential to running the app:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, and file storage
• OpenAI — AI processing of your uploaded content and tutor conversations

Both services have their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other parties.

You have full control over your data:

• Access — you can view all data stored in your account at any time within the app
• Correction — you can update your profile information at any time
• Deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings
• Export — contact us if you need a copy of your data

StudyLikePro is designed for university and secondary school students. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

The web version of StudyLikePro uses minimal browser storage (localStorage) to maintain your login session and app preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Firebase may set session cookies required for authentication. These are strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of while using the app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you via the app or email.

Continuing to use StudyLikePro after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
